The role of a PLC Programmer is to ensure maximum machine uptime and successful completion of preventative maintenance schedules.
Essential Responsibilities And Duties
- Trouble shooting plant PLC equipment with respect for communication problems with (Siemens, Omron Alan Bradley Tele-Mechanique, EAS magnetic systems, Fanuc, ABB)
- Working predominantly with manufacturing plant equipment and control systems
- Design, develop and install plant control systems
- Testing plant equipment to check correct functioning
- Identify and investigating system faults within the manufacturing control System
- Ensuring plant equipment is in a safe working condition with regards to Installation of safety equipment, safety circuit implementation and design and Conducting safety tests
- Oversee installation and repair to plant manufacturing equipment
- Preventative and Predictive maintenance implementation
- Sourcing of suppliers of industrial equipment to ensure equipment efficiency
- Investigate ways to improve the manufacturing process with latest technology
- Offer support to the electricians and production to reduce equipment downtime
- Review and analyse failures of all manufacturing control systems
- PLC and S7 programming to improve equipment cycle times and efficiency
- The ideal candidate will have/be:
- Siemens S7 PLC progamming
- SCADA systems training
- Knowledge & Experience:
- Minimum 5 years experience in an automotive environment
- Minimum 5 years experience in the electrical engineering environment
- General machinery maintenance experience
- Good problem solving techniques
- Problem Solving
