PROJECT MANAGER: BUSINESS CHANGE AND TRANSFORMATION

Purpose
The purpose of the role is to manage a small number of projects and large changes across a portfolio of clients within the Business Change and Transformation Team. The projects are typically business changes associated with our client’s customer management needs, varying from operational, site and system ramp ups to deal with sales or marketing campaigns, to telephony and system implementations to support operational needs. In this role, the project manager will plan, schedule and control change to best fit the needs of the business, and will be responsible for managing project relationships between Business Change, Clients, IT, Operations and other divisions.
You will also be responsible for the whole lifecycle of the project, from initiation, design and build, through to delivery and handover to the live environment. To ensure successful delivery you will produce the necessary project documentation, including PIDs, project plans, and RAID logs, and will also manage project teams and liaise with impacted parties.
As project manager, you will also be responsible for reporting project progress, escalating key risks or issues, and working with other project managers within a fast paced business change environment.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Creating and managing the project plan;
- Managing product delivery in accordance with the Project Management Framework;
- Controlling stages;
- Identifying next stage pre-requisites (infrastructure, resource, software licence) and address these prior to the start of the next stage;
- Managing project change control;
- Managing project quality;
- Building a working relationship with other project managers;
- Co-ordinating and leading all project team resources;
- Reporting project progress;
- Delivering projects to agreed timescales;
- Managing risks and issues;
- Recording all project expenditure and review against estimates;
- Define scope, goals, work packages, work streams and deliverables
- Chair internal and external meetings, workshops & presentations
- Produce status and milestone reporting
- Pro-active Risk, Assumption, Issues and Dependencies management
- Resolve and drive through solutions to issues impacting the project
- Adherence to all PMO governance procedures
Selection Criteria
Qualifications
- Prince 2 Foundation or equivalent PM qualification
- Degree or equivalent demonstrable business experience
Knowledge
- Expert in the use of office tools including Word, Excel, Visio and PowerPoint
- Expert knowledge of Microsoft Project
- Use of SharePoint
Experience
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in Project Management Business change projects
Desirable Experience/Skills
- Holds a relevant professional body qualification/accreditation (e.g. MSP or Prince2).
