Oversee implementation of health management systems in line with the service catalogue of WBHS.

Job Description
Job responsibilities include (but are not limited to):
- Led by and in liaison with the Group Safety & Sustainable Development (S&SD) Health Function & AAP Executives prepare operational (SHE) health strategy for Platinum
- Functional Strategy alignment and execution
- General management of WBHS
- Line management responsibilities Contribute to policy discussions and impact assessment Operational Management (Financial and administrative Management)
- Resource planning and budgeting
- Clinical programme implementation, monitoring and evaluation
- Implementation of (SHE) health management systems
- Monitor effectiveness of current health information management systems
- Drive adherence to clinical governance (training, quality of care & peer reviews)
- Respond to cross-function requirements
- Oversee the quality of services provided by 3rd parties
- Be a strategic advisor on health and wellness
- Utilise analytical ability to develop reports for presentation and discussion with the Executive Committee and Board of Directors.
Qualifications
- MBChB
- Registration with Health Professionals Council of South Africa.
- Post-graduate training in occupational health Care
- Post-graduate training in trauma and emergency care (desirable)
- Post-graduate training in family or internal medicine esp. communicable diseases (desirable)
- Business Administration or Public Health (desirable)
- At least 10 years work experience
- Over 5 years general managerial experience
- Clinical programme management experience
- Experience in the mining industry (desirable)
- Demonstrated success working as a senior medical professional in the Mining industry.
- Demonstrated success working in clinical programme and medical management (combined)
- Demonstrated experience with occupational and non-occupational disease management including tuberculosis, HIV/AIDS.
- In depth knowledge of the effects of hazards in and around the workplace which are detrimental to the health of workers, the community and the environment
- Excellent knowledge of occupational disease management programmes
- Track record of leading ideas generation; translating these into practical initiatives to be implemented and demonstration of successful execution and delivery within occupational health.
- Provides a consistent outstanding role model in relation to safety practices with a deep understanding of the importance of safety.
