Headwear24, Africa's largest headwear manufacturer is looking for a young and ambitious individual to join their printing team at their factory in Newlands West.
JOB SUMMARY
The Printing Machine Operator will operate sublimation printers and laser cutters with some added supervisory responsibilities.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Operates various types of printing machines including digital sublimation, eco solvent, heat transfer and laser cutting.
• Determines quantities required for print job.
• Matches colors for print job per job request.
• Aligns and calibrates machinery.
• Inspects random production samples to evaluate quality of printings.
• Maintains inventory of supplies needed to operate printing machines.
• Troubleshoots issues with printing machine and makes basic repairs.
• Performs routine maintenance on printing machines.
• Drafts and submits reports for daily production totals.
• Maintains a clean area around printing machinery.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.
MUST BE WILLING TO WORK SHIFTS AND OVERTIME.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
• Matric (NQF4) or equivalent level education
• Relevant experience in a commercial and/or manufacturing environment.
• Basic knowledge of DTP design and color matching.
• Computer literate at intermediate level.
• Excellent verbal communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills.
• Ability to operate or to quickly learn to operate various printing machines, related software and other machinery.
• Ability to follow instructions closely.
• Excellent organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail.
• Physically fit and capable of operating industrial printing machinery as well as lifting heavy rolls of printing paper onto the machine.
• Carry heavy rolls to load onto the printers
