Job Description
Job responsibilities include (but are not limited to):
Safety
- Oversee consistent application of Safety & Health principles in all discipline interactions and take personal responsibility for safety of self and others to ensure zero harm and elimination of fatalities.
- Responsible for compiling Process Design Criteria.
- Develops projects business cases.
- Conduct capacity reviews and historic trend analysis for various plant productive units.
- Developing and reviewing Process Flow Diagrams and P&IDs.
- Actively participate in the development and implementation of effective and effective commissioning processes.
- Compiling Process Control Philosophy (consolidation of PFDs, P&IDs) for the purpose of software coding.
- Actively participating in HazOP and LoPA studies.
- Facilitation of key liaison between Process Engineering/Production teams and Project Management team
- Developing Pilot Standard Operating Procedures for new initiatives/projects
- Liaising with OEMs
- Assessment and development of operational readiness plans (constructability and overall logical sequencing of project steps)
- Implement a purpose-driven, high-performing culture that is aligned with the company values, is inclusive and promotes diversity, supports engagement and fosters continuous improvement to work processes.
- Ensure compliance to Anglo American internal and external compliance (legislative, regulatory, permitting) requirements.
Qualifications
- Completed Matric (Grade 12)
- BEng in Metallurgy/Mineral Processing or Chemical Engineering
- BSc Honours in Metallurgy/Mineral Processing or Chemical Engineering advantageous
- 5- 7 years relevant working experience
- At least 5 years experience within a Production and Projects-based environment.
- Production experience within Hydrometallurgical environment would be highly advantageous.
- Sound knowledge of pumping systems/agitation systems and line sizing.
- In-depth knowledge of slurry and saline solution pumping systems Advanced skills in Process Modelling/design (Mass/energy balance).
- Proficient skills in understanding Process Safety Management systems (HazOps/LoPAs processes)
- Advanced knowledge of relevant SAP knowledge is advantageous.
- PI process book knowledge advantageous.
- Advanced/Expert Microsoft Excel/Word/PowerPoint user.
- Proficient statistical analysis ability advantageous.
- Fluent/Advanced in English verbal and written communication.
