Job Description
This role is accountable for the development and implementation of parts of the procurement strategy, and the execution of tactical business plans at an operational level, through other managers and their teams, over periods of 3 months to 1 year.
Responsible for development and implementation of part of the group procurement strategy, frameworks, controls and processes taking into account Best Practice and current operating environment within OM.
Accountable for identification of cost savings/cost avoidance opportunities and implementation of change management processes to shift organisational procurement behaviour to achieve value.
Accountable for governance and compliance for Procurement behaviour.
Engages with business units and strategic stakeholders in order to develop and operationalise a group strategy in respect of B-BBEE, in accordance with FSC and DTI, and supplier relationship management, category management and third-party sustainability initiatives.
Continuously drives process improvement within the contracts, sourcing and procurement environment to achieve operational excellence.
Responsible for operational management within the contracts, sourcing and procurement function over periods of 3 months to a year.
Acts as relationship managers between suppliers (where applicable and where no direct relationship with a cluster) and Old Mutual to resolve any issues and to enforce Old Mutual Limited Procurement Policy.
Demonstrates the ability to be creative, consider current practices with the mindset of continuous growth, and demonstrate initiative to generate improvements and foster positive outcomes.
Responsible for:
- the management, analytics and reporting of all procurement related data.
- managing, as and when required, the vendor management, MIS and reporting capability teams within the contracts, sourcing and procurement function.
- managing B-BBEE reporting and compliance, in accordance with organisations strategies and targets, including FSC and DTI.
- the development, management and operationalising of a supplier relationship management capability and team to support the optimisation of the organisation's third-party supplier base.
- managing and enhancing the third-party supplier contract management compliance, MIS and reporting across the contracts, sourcing and procurement function.
- providing general operational support for all procurement related activities, including development and implementation of procurement strategies and policies at local and group levels.
- contract negotiation, drafting, administration, for general and strategic third-party engagements
- formulation and implementation of strategic sourcing initiatives
- participation in various procurement related forums, and preparing procurement and contracting reporting data for board presentations
- supporting development and implementation of the digitisation of all related data sources within the procurement ecosystem
- collaborating and delivering cross-functionally across the contracts, sourcing and procurement function
Matric.
Commercial tertiary qualification, procurement qualification an advantage. Thorough business understanding
5+ years business experience.
