Our client a large payment solutions company based in Alberton is seeking a contract Analyst: Product Development to assist them for a 4 month contract.
Minimum requirements:
- BCom Informatics or Similar
- 2-3 years experience as an Analyst in Product Development or similar
- Must not need to be trained
- Must be able to start immediately and commit to a 4 month contract
Job description:
Analyst – Product & Business development is a professional occupation that utilises technical skills to design, promote and manage all aspects of a product for an organization. These professionals are involved with a product’s entire life cycle from conception to completion as well as continually supporting and enhancing the product. The role also encompasses business development. The candidate will be exposed to business analysis and project management. Candidate will start in a junior position until experienced enough to be a fully functional analyst.
Key Responsibilities Include:
- Working with the Product Manager to comprehensively understand the requirements for the product.
- The Product development analyst will be responsible for building products of substance, by understanding the detail behind requirements.
- Working with development team members to ensure that the requirements are fully understood.
- Engage with Developers on business context of features.
- Engage with testing team to help develop detail test cases and develop test data in support of User Acceptance Testing.
Product Integrations
- To support the product integrations with external admin providers
- To enhance product integrations to keep up with industry trends
- To build long standing relationship with admin provider.
- To manage the full Product Life Cycle. (Introduction, Growth, Maturity & Decline stage)
- To continually review product strategy in consultation with the manager.
- To be proactive in the evaluation of enhancements to the product including documenting and submitting change requirements for development.
- To develop, implement and review product controls, processes and policy and procedures.
- To communicate to all business area’s on product enhancement or new functionality
- To understand the product architecture including all the product area’s/processes and how all areas of the product functions
- Product management, Improvement and development
Business analysis
- To solicit and draft requirements based on business needs.
- To find solutions for business problems taking into account system capabilities.
- To assist business units to draft formal business cases to motivate required system changes.
- Attend and facilitate JAD sessions with Business and Development teams.
- Act as SME on all products.
- Provide sign-off and approval on BA work.
- Document user training manuals.
Data Analysis
- Analyse data and draw strategic conclusions for senior management.
- To mine data and provide various stats to management.
Training
- Maintain product knowledge in order to promote the product effectively within all business area’s
- Responsible for training the various business units on all areas of the product.
- To present product information using training aids available,
- To attend and assist in promotional exhibitions, road shows and industry conferences (as and when required)
Testing
- Create and execute test cases.
- Feedback test results to developments team.
- Ensure quality standards are met prior to implementation.
- Perform post implementation testing.
- Communicate testing outcomes to senior management.
- Obtain sign-off for changes to be implemented.
Documentation
- Creating, Maintaining and publishing of all product related information and documentation.
- Supply editorials and product information to the marketing department for the company newsletters.
- Draft internal and external product enhancement notifications for distribution
Goals:
- Functional Goal: is to ensure the continued growth of a product.
- Design Goal: is to review the product design, suggests enhancements, and oversees development to ensure continued market success of the product. (This includes redesign of the product if required to stay competitive in the marketplace.)
- Education Goal: is to train all areas of business on the product’s functionality and abilities.
- Promotion Goal: is to analyse current market trends related to the product and ensures marketability. (This includes finding the best resources to market the product, attending industry conventions and events)
- Business Focus Goal: is to work with all areas of business to ensure customer satisfaction and to understand the customers’ needs and the product’s future direction. (This includes occasionally accompanying sales and CRC staff to client meetings to understand potential limitations of the product.)
