What We Are Looking For
Are you excited about developing the world's first AI-powered solution for power traders, with weather intelligence at its core?
In your capacity as a Staff Product Manager for Power Trading, your main task will be to identify and leverage the most lucrative opportunities in the power trading landscape. You will play a crucial role as a liaison, connecting different stakeholders and promoting effective collaboration between meteorologists, analysts, and traders on the customer side and our world-class engineering team on the other side.
First 6 months
- Today, weather forecasting is a $7BN market, and related weather services are a $30BN market. With such a set of opportunities at your fingertips, your key skill will be saying no to the 99% that don't matter and focusing on the 1% of B2B product opportunities that deliver a capital-efficient and fast-growing business.
- Most companies in the Earth Observation and Weather space today try to display as much data as possible. Instead, you will build a culture of user-centricity and ensure we identify valuable user problems to solve. To you, technology and data will be a means to an end and not a purpose in and of itself.
- Based on your close connections with prospects and customers and your in-depth understanding of their requirements across different verticals, you will contribute to a product strategy that allows for capital efficient scaling (UX, ease of adoption, retention, etc.) and creates significant economic benefit for our users.
- Together with our world-class engineering team, you will make sure your product and design organization keep shipping all the time.
- In the first 6 months, you will learn the ins and outs of our potential customers and understand intimately what they exactly need. Which outcomes matter for them, what doesn't. Then you translate them with your team operatively through our product strategy via quarterly plannings into the operational teams so they come up with the best solutions to address these needs.
- Generating ever more value for our customers and continuously decreasing the friction for new customers to sign up with us will be the center of your attention and as such you will be one of the key people driving our growth. You will decide which 1% of the opportunities ahead of us are worth pursuing.
- You will be the voice of the customer in the organization and share your learning with you direct team in engineering as well as with the wider company in settings such as all-hands, company off sites and sporadically in "deep dive" presentations.
- You will build a state of the art product and design culture that prides itself in running a high number of experiments whilst shipping solid products that generate tangible economic benefit for customers
- Your ongoing responsibilities will involve monitoring the market and competitive landscape, including factors such as weather, developments in deep learning, and new market opportunities. With this information, your objective is to craft a product strategy that not only establishes a distinctive position for Jua but also ensures the highest possible return on investment and capital efficiency for our shareholders.
- As part of your role, you will serve as an ambassador for the company, actively participating in communities related to recruiting top talent and promoting our product.
- A minimum of 3 years of experience as a Power Trader or Analyst on a power trading floor, or demonstrated expertise in managing diverse portfolios such as gas, wind, or solar.
- A deep passion for state-of-the-art, fast learning product and design organizations
- Strong communication skills towards internal and external stakeholders
- Ability and willingness to prioritize rigorously amid ambivalent stakeholder demands
- Ability and willingness to communicate priorities to all stakeholders all the time
- Strong interest in weather, deep learning and energy related domains (trading, utilities etc.)
- Insatiable hunger to win
- Fluent English and willingness to visit customers in Europe and USA from time to time
- Prior experience in geospatial or weather data
- Relevant university degree
- Proficiency in software development
