Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Operations Product Owner for Low Value Payments to join our CIB team. In this role, you will lead the development and optimization of our low value payment products, ensuring they meet customer needs and align with regulatory requirements. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to deliver innovative payment solutions that enhance our competitive edge in the market. You will also work across the countries where Absa has presence on the African continent.
Job Description
Key Responsibilities
- Product Strategy and Vision: Develop and articulate a clear operational product vision and strategy for low value payments, aligned with business objectives and market trends.
- Product Development: Oversee the operational product development lifecycle from ideation to launch, collaborating with commercial product teams, engineering, design, marketing, and operations teams.
- Stakeholder Management: Engage with stakeholders to gather requirements, ensure alignment on product goals, and provide regular updates on product progress and performance.
- Customer Focus: Engage commercial product teams to gather customer insights to inform product decisions, ensuring a customer-centric approach to development and improvement.
- Regulatory Compliance: Ensure compliance with relevant payment regulations and standards, working closely with legal and compliance teams to address any regulatory challenges.
- Risk Management: Work closely with the operational business and the Risk Management teams to ensure that risk controls are designed into the low value payment solutions deployed in the Group.
- Metrics and Reporting: Define and track key performance indicators (KPIs), providing regular reports on product performance and using data-driven insights to guide product decisions.
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Computer Science, or a related field. An advanced degree (MBA) is preferred.
- Experience:
- 6 years proven experience as a Product Owner, Product Manager, Business Analysis or similar role in the payments industry.
- In-depth knowledge of low value payment systems, digital wallets, and mobile payment solutions.
- Experience with Agile methodologies and tools.

Bachelor`s Degrees and Advanced Diplomas: Business, Commerce and Management Studies (Required)
