Role Description
As Product Owner, you will be responsible to support the business in driving the product development of XDENT (Dental Information System) that support dentists with practice management, electronic health records and billing in the South African and African market. You will be working closely with the responsible Product Manager and agile development teams located in Cape Town and Italy. We use an agile approach, SAFe methodology, for our product development.
Key Duties And Responsibilities
- Work closely with both internal and external stakeholders to build a deep understanding of product requirements, analyse customer business needs and translate into product solutions.
- Responsible for defining and prioritizing the product backlog with input from key stakeholders (professional services, support, management, and sales teams)
- Ensuring that items in the product backlog are visible, transparent, and clear to all, and shows what the scrum team will work on next.
- Daily engagement with the development team and optimise the value of the work they perform.
- Participate in refining and approve requirements from your product team colleagues (user stories, functional and non-functional requirements, acceptance criteria, in scope and out of scope criteria, test cases).
- Be part of the release planning and drive the release through user acceptance testing and stakeholder approval for release.
- Coordinate dependencies with other Product Owners and development teams to ensure there are consistent overall product releases.
- IT or Healthcare-oriented University Degree or Diploma or 2 years' experience in the Healthcare Industry.
- Experience in dental information systems and particularly in data recording and/or billing
- systems.
- 1+ years relevant experience as Product Owner or Business Analyst.
- Previous experience working in an Agile environment such as SAFe or Scrum.
- Ability to write product requirements in a structured way, specifically epics and user stories but also other supporting artefacts that fit the need to best describe the requirements.
- In conjunction with a UX designer use a User Centred Approach to enrich the product requirements and bring clarity to the development team.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office 365 namely Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Experience in using Gitlab, JIRA and Confluence advantageous.
- Ability to make informed, decisive decisions in a collaborative environment.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- A self-organising attitude and a strong ability to produce outputs.
