Job Description
To be successful in this role, you will serve as the interface across multi-disciplines, focusing on the following:
- Provides visible felt leadership in safety, sustainable development and Anglo American values
- Contributes to the development of the strategic operational plans and strategy but has direct accountability for the execution of such strategies within the area of accountability
- Develops, implements and monitors engineering maintenance, risk and operational tactics and plans to deliver the business objectives
- Provides and oversees engineering services, infrastructure (roads, power, water) and equipment availability are adequate and maintained to meet operational goals
- Leads and manages resources (labour, spares, suppliers. Contractors etc.) to deliver production targets and projects as required.
- Ensures compliance with all legal, environmental, occupational health and safety and risk management standards and best practices.
- Ensures compliance to all group, BU and other engineering and asset management standards and specifications within the area of accountability
- Monitors health of discipline and takes necessary action to ensure that the operation is adequately staffed with required skill level, inclusive of mentoring and development plans for subordinates
- Develops sets and manages the engineering and maintenance budgets
- Accountable and ensures the implementation of key strategic initiatives such as the operating model, asset management and SIB deployment.

Qualifications
You will need the following:
- Government Certificate of Competency
- BEng/ BSc in Mechanical /Electrical/Electromechanical engineering (advantageous)
- At least 5 years Post Engineering qualification experience
- Proven ability in large Capex project management
- Proven ability in minimizing Operational and Business Risk
- Proven ability in protecting and managing capital assets
- Experience in SAP: Planned Maintenance
- Strategic Vision 2-5 years
- Process Plant experience (advantageous)
- Medical fitness assessment
