Skills/Experience:
- Knowledge and/or experience in Package Printing Processes, Material Production Processes, Material Selection, and Package Design.
- Able to manage multiple tasks with minimal direction.
- Proficient in executing projects and initiatives in a structured and controlled manner.
- In-depth knowledge of the Occupational Health and Safety Act and Safety Management Systems, including Hazard Identification and Risk Assessment.
- Extensive familiarity with FSSC 22000 and ISO9001 standards.
- A minimum of 5 Years+ years of managerial experience in a manufacturing environment.
Expected Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent (Grade 12).
- Relevant qualifications such as a BTech, Diploma, or Degree.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise and manage various machines and areas within the division, including Die-cutting, Focusight, Windowpatcher, Gralex, Tub machine, Flexo machine, and the stripping of excess board.
- Develop and maintain quality control objectives, aligning them with production procedures in collaboration with other managers to enhance product reliability while minimizing costs.
- Oversee the punching and stripping processes of printed materials.
- Conduct regular checks on all work in progress to maintain quality and consistency.
- Adjust the priority of orders and operating schedules as dictated by work requirements.
- Review production requirements and generate detailed work specifications for the department.
- Continuously seek opportunities to enhance the efficiency of machines and production processes within the division.
- Manage staffing and workload allocation to reduce overtime.
- Be prepared to undertake additional tasks that fall within your skill set and capabilities as needed.
Requirements:
- Meticulous attention to detail and accuracy & strong sense of urgency in meeting production targets.
- Proficient in conflict management and knowledgeable about labour laws and disciplinary procedures.
- Skilled in training, coaching, mentoring, succession planning, and skills development.
- Effective planning and organizational abilities & exceptional communication skills.
- Proficient in change management & capable of analyzing data trends and drawing conclusions.
- Competent in instructing, directing, and evaluating employees.
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively across various functions.
- A comprehensive understanding of the packaging process and related machinery is advantageous.
- Thorough knowledge of the use and application of papers, inks, fluids, and chemicals used in printing and packaging materials and machinery is an advantage.
- Considerable knowledge of quality procedures and standards.
