To ensure that the production volumes are achieved, and all products and practices meet agreed operating standards and specifications. Duties include building production schedules, ensuring production processes stay within budgets and deadlines and reviewing the productivity of an organizations production equipment and labour.
- Ensure production meets annual plant volumes.
- Ensure output reflects and meets capacity of plant.
- Ensure product is produced within food safety specifications.
- Ensure all production reports are completed monthly in line with KPIs.
- Responsible for investigation & corrective actions for non-conforming product
- Responsible for investigation & corrective actions for safety incidents
- Process safety manager (PSM)Process Hazard Lead (PHA) for site.
- Safety/Food Safety policies are implemented and adhered to
- Labour contract manager (Maintaining budget & operations of agency)
- Plan production framework budgets annually.
- Weekly invoicing of labour and transport budgets
- Manage production cost centre cost.
- Manage overtime and maintain lean production.
- Manage staff behaviour & IR responsibilities for Production department.
- Liaise with HR regarding personnel issues.
- Complete monthly manufacturing inputs for HR
- Manage bio-metric system.
- Participate in all investigations and projects pertaining to Production.
- Assist in plant upgrades and new installations.
- Be a part of Internal auditing team
- Ensure safe operating practices are always followed.
- Ensure good housekeeping is maintained for production.
- Ensure all required training is conducted and recorded.
- Ensure continuous improvement in plant operations and best practices (KPIs)
- Suggest and implement cost saving initiatives in manufacturing (OTTs)
- Oversee investigation and corrective action processes for all deviations in production material and safety relate.
- Ensure personnel concerns/conflict is resolved.
- Project management
- Inventory lead for Production locations (Stock Take/Cycle Counts)
- Ensuring Production reports are completed and report on monthly/annually.
- Reviewing and analysis of reports
- Ensure resources are available to production to perform tasks safely.
- Overall management of a smooth production process
- Be prepared to work overtime, weekends, and night shifts as required to meet production demands.
- Adhere to all Food Safety requirements in terms of Personnel practices and Hygiene
- Follow all handling, storage and processing instruction as per best practices to avoid contamination or deterioration of materials.
- Ensure all CCP records are correctly completed, and any non conformities are recorded and auctioned
- Ensure GMP programmes are implemented and adhered to
- Ensure Foreign object and Allergen policies are adhered to
- Member of Food safety team
