The Production Planner is responsible for planning and coordinating production schedules to meet business demands and optimize resource utilization. The successful candidates expertise in capacity planning will be instrumental in driving productivity and meeting production targets.
Key Responsibilities:
Efficient production planning
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, to develop production plans and maximise resource utilization
- Monitor production progress and adjust plans as necessary to ensure on-time delivery and minimal disruptions.
- Analyze production requirements, forecasted demand, and available raw materials to develop an optimized production schedule.
- Analyze production data to identify trends and areas for improvement in production processes.
- Identify potential production bottlenecks and take proactive measures to minimize their impact to streamline operations.
- Continuously evaluate and refine production processes to improve efficiency, reduce waste, and enhance product quality.
- Monitor and analyse actual production costs against standard costs to identify variances.
- Collaborate with the finance team to investigate cost discrepancies and provide cost-saving recommendations.
- Conduct material recovery analysis to identify opportunities for waste reduction and material reuse.
- Work closely with the relevant supervisor(s) to optimize inventory levels, minimize stockouts, and ensure timely availability of raw materials.
- Monitor labour and machine utilization rates, identify inefficiencies, and implement strategies to improve productivity.
- Collaborate with supervisors to ensure proper workforce allocation and training to meet production demands.
- Maintain accurate records of labour and machine utilization for reporting and analysis purposes.
- Assess production capacity and capabilities based on available resources, machinery, and labour force.
- Monitor production volumes and provide proactive solutions to address capacity constraints or production fluctuations.
- Relevant bachelors degree in operations management or a related field.
- Minimum 5 years' experience in a similar role and manufacturing environment.
- Proven experience as a Production Planner within related industry.
