Job Description
As a Manufacturing Supervisor, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our production line. You will be responsible for coordinating labour activities, managing raw materials and finished goods, maintaining machinery, ensuring quality control, and fostering a safe working environment. Additionally, you will handle disciplinary actions, train new employees, and strive to achieve production targets while minimizing absenteeism.
Requirements
- Production Management Diploma or relevant qualification preferred.
- Prior experience managing a production workforce (approximately 20 employees).
- Basic understanding of production processes, line balancing, and productivity.
- Prior experience in general machine maintenance.
- General understanding of a manufacturing facility's operations.
- Fluent in spoken and written English and Afrikaans.
- Must have own transport.
- Forklift license would be advantageous.
- Coordinate labour activities to meet daily production targets.
- Manage absenteeism and ensure adequate staffing levels.
- Manage raw material, work in progress, and finished goods inventory.
- Liaise with internal suppliers to achieve production goals.
- Maintain and repair basic production machinery.
- Drive quality initiatives to achieve zero customer complaints.
- Create and maintain a safe working environment.
- Handle disciplinary activities in accordance with company policies.
- Train new employees and ensure a multi-skilled workforce.
