The Payroll Professional will be part of a Global Payroll team, serving business across EMEA (Europe, Middle East and Africa), along with other HR Administration tasks, and will be responsible for managing and overseeing the payroll processes for Danfoss South Africa, but may also need to back up and support payroll operations and processes in other countries within the EMEA region.
This role requires a detail-oriented individual with extensive experience in payroll operations, compliance, and HR administration.
Job Responsibilities
Responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to, the following.
- Payroll Processing: Accurately process semi-monthly and monthly payrolls for all employees, ensuring compliance with local regulations and company policies,
- Data Management: Maintain and update employee payroll records, including new hires, terminations, and changes in payroll status,
- Compliance: Ensure all payroll activities comply with local, state, and federal regulations, including tax filings and reporting,
- Employee Support: Provide support and guidance to employees regarding payroll inquiries, tax issues, and direct deposit changes,
- Reporting: Generate and distribute payroll reports to management, including ad-hoc reporting requests,
- Auditing: Conduct regular audits of payroll processes to identify and rectify discrepancies, ensuring accuracy and efficiency,
- Collaboration: Work closely with the HR team to coordinate payroll-related activities and support HR initiatives,
- Ask HR: Serve as a point of contact for employees to ask HR-related questions and provide guidance on payroll and benefits matters.

The ideal candidate possesses these skills.
- Bachelor's degree in HR, Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field,
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in payroll operations, preferably in a multinational company,
- Proficiency in payroll software and systems (e.g., ADP, SAP, Workday),
- Strong understanding of South African payroll laws and regulations,
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills,
- Ability to handle confidential information with integrity,
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills,
- Certification in Payroll (CPP, FPC, or equivalent) is a plus,
- Experience with multi-state and international payrolls is a plus,
- Familiarity with HR and accounting principles.
