The Department of Public Law and Jurisprudence is responsible for undergraduate and postgraduate teaching, supervision, research, and community engagement in the fields of public law (constitutional law, administrative law, environmental law and public international law) as well as jurisprudence. The successful candidate for the vacant position in the Department of Public Law and Jurisprudence will be required to teach inter alia Introduction to Law and Public International Law. The successful candidate will also be responsible for the following key performance areas:
- Academic leadership within the Department
- Facilitation of learning at undergraduate and postgraduate levels
- Conducting research and publishing in the field of public law and/or jurisprudence
- Supervising undergraduate and postgraduate students
- Academic administration
- Curriculum development and assessment
- Community engagement
Minimum Requirements for the position of Professor:
- LLD or equivalent, in the field of public law, or a related field
- extensive teaching experience in the field of public law
- an outstanding record of quality peer-reviewed publications in the field of public law
- an excellent record of successful postgraduate supervision at Masters and Doctoral level
- evidence of expertise and of international recognition in the field of public law
- the integration of community engagement with learning and teaching and/or research
- LLD or equivalent, in the field of public law, or a related field
- teaching experience in the field of public law
- a significant record of quality peer reviewed publications in the field of public law
- a record of successful postgraduate supervision, at least at Masters level, and
- evidence of expertise, national standing, and an international presence in the field of public law
- the integration of community engagement with learning and teaching and/or research
- LLD or equivalent, in the field of public law or a related field
- teaching experience, in the field of public law
- a record of quality peer reviewed publications in the field of public law
- a record of successful supervision at LLB final year level, whilst supervision at Masters and Doctoral level would be advantageous
- Demonstrated competence in community engagement.
