PROJECT ACCOUNTANT

We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive accountant with strong Excel skills and a passion for tackling diverse projects. Reporting to the Group FM, this role is based at our Somerset West offices and offers an opportunity to contribute meaningfully to both financial and risk management functions. Responsibilities: Accounting Assist the Finance department with Ad-hoc projects Compile provisional tax calculations and coordinate taxation process Payroll: Perform relevant checks for pay run and General Ledger accounts Review and report exceptions Implement various financial control processes to identify risk and enable an efficient financial control process Ensure that all process descriptions as documented, current and evaluated with management for efficiency. Prepare and collect relevant monthly balance sheet reconciliations and ensure they meet company guidelines and requirements. Risk Management Coordination of the annual insurance renewal process. Update of insurance claims register and monitoring thereof for follow up with the insurer. Ensure accuracy of Equity reporting. Manage the B-BBEE verification process. Document risks via the risk register. Communicate risks to the relevant parties. Requirements: Matric with Accounting Degree (additional qualification after degree will be advantageous) SAIPA/SAICA articles or 5 years experience in a similar role Advanced knowledge of accounting principles Sage 300 People or other similar payroll package exposure Advanced Excel skills Willingness to learn and take on new tasks The Fruitways Groups employment equity requirements will be considered in evaluating candidates.
