Education Requirements

• Bachelors degree in technology, science, engineering, business field, or town planning

Experience Requirements

• 3+ years of experience as a Project Developer in the renewable energy industry in South Africa
• Embedded knowledge of South African administrations, environmental law, and BBB-EE Code
• Project Development experience in rural Southern African regions

Responsibilities

As a Project Developer, you will play a crucial role in identifying, originating, and managing renewable energy projects. Your responsibilities will include identifying potential project sites, conducting initial risk assessments, negotiating land leases, and obtaining permits and licenses from government departments. You will also manage project costs, engage with stakeholders, and implement risk mitigation strategies.

Working closely with senior developers, you will contribute to due diligence processes, support renewable energy procurement programs, and assist in achieving financial close. Maintaining relationships with stakeholders, monitoring market developments, and identifying strategic opportunities and threats will also be important aspects of your role.
