Job description
Exciting opportunity available for a Project Engineer based in Northwest and working on mining projects for both Video Surveillance, Fire Detection and Gas Suppression.
The Project Engineer is responsible for managing the technical execution of Integrated Electronic Security and Life Safety Solution projects. The role is expected to manage technical installation teams assigned to them on a project(s). The Project Engineer acts as technical solution expert on assigned product lines providing input to sales, operations and other functions in the organisation.
Responsibilities
Technical Expectations
- Develop detailed technical submissions to support project scope and works
- Manage system commissioning and user acceptance testing on projects
- Participate in end-user training
- Compile technical reports and complete technical lessons learned logs post project completion
- Qualify and evaluate new products for commercial and technical viability
- Establish and nurture business relationships with relevant internal and external task stakeholders
- Work with internal (Pre-sales, business development, management, senior project engineers) and external (client, supplier and partners) to identify needs and technical expectations of project
- Manage client escalations and critical technical issues
- Work according to the FS project management methodology and engage with team leader as to the risk, issues, lessons learned and other relevant documentation
- Ensure technical task delivery according to scope, budget and timeline
- Communicate technical risks and issues to Technical manager/ Project engineer and clearly communicate impact on timely project execution
- Engage with supply chain team to co-ordinate logistic and supply chain requirements Manage project dependencies and communicate with internal and external stakeholders Monitor quality and drive timely execution of technical support team on projects
- Manage technical subcontractors to deliver to agreed SLAs. Escalate performance issues to the Project Manager/ Director
Account Management
- Maintain and cultivate client relationships with strategic projects and/or accounts
- Manage client escalations on technical issues
- Bachelors degree/ diploma in engineering or information technology from a reputable institution
- 3-5 years experience in a technology environment
- In-depth/Expert understanding of IT hardware and physical Networks -N+, INet
- In-depth/Expert understanding of IP video surveillance, electronic security hardware and software platforms, public address and fire detection systems preferred.
- Outstanding communication, testing, fault finding and time management skills
- Ability to work under pressure

- Strong problem-solving skills, team player and a high degree of creativity and resourcefulness
- Passion, determination with a high energy level
- Working knowledge of MS Office based products, outstanding understanding of MS Excel required
- Experience with CCTV and / or access control an absolute must
- SAQCC registered fire detection and fire suppression specialist a definite advantage
- Knowledge of Gallagher and Avigilon
