You will oversee end-to-end execution of petrochemical projects, collaborating closely with the Engineering Project Manager. Proficiency in standards like OHS Act, ASME B31, SANS, and ASME VIII, coupled with adeptness in tools like MS Project and AutoCAD, underscores your capability in managing multi-disciplinary teams and ensuring project adherence to timelines, budgets, and specifications. Your responsibilities include strategic project planning, stakeholder coordination, design management, and contractor oversight, reinforcing your pivotal role in project success.
Essential Qualifications:
- B.Sc. Mechanical Engineering.
- Registered professional engineer with ECSA.
- Project Management Diploma
- Over 10 years of engineering experience in the petroleum industry, of which 5 years was in a project management role.
- Preferable: OHS Act, ASME B31 (Piping). SANS 347, SANS 10089-1 & ASME VIII standards.
- E-mail, Excel, Word, MS Project, AutoCAD (intermediate).
- Frequent travel (road and air) to branches or other construction sites.
- Able to manage multi-disciplinary project teams.
- Good communicator (written & verbal).
- Good interaction with senior management (internal & external).
- Able to prioritise.
- Ensures projects are completed within the time and cost limit as well as to the
- agreed specifications.
- Compiling P&IDs, HAZOP/MOC studies, budgets & schedules for capital expenditure projects.
- Managing design, draughting and in-house fabrication of piping, pressure equipment, structures, heat exchangers, distillation columns & vessels.
- Management of local & international contractors and suppliers.
- Drafting of RFQs, BOQs, review of variation orders, contract adjudications & contract administration (NEC, JBCC).
