Job description

PURPOSE
Exciting opportunity exists to to initiate, commission and hand over projects to operations at the right quality, cost and deadlines within professional project management guidelines and standards. Provide project management on all new commercial projects and strategic Research and Development projects.
Requirements
RESPONSIBILITIES
Projects and Proposals

Present engineering/ technical options for project execution
Review requests for proposals to establish strategy and approach to prepare for the technical part of proposals.
Develop designs, create models, and conduct tests to ensure that designs meet specifications.
Identify and propose mitigation of technical and financial risks for projects in coordination with Business Support Manager, Snr Manager Operations, and other relevant stakeholders

Tenders

Develop all necessary engineering/ technical documentation
Responsible for technical/ engineering part of tenders to be submitted
Ensure on-time submission of approved tenders and follow up with clients

Project Management

Coordinate delivery of technical/ engineering projects
Develop and manage schedules and budgets for each engineering/ technical phase of a project.
Manage all logistics, materials and supplies within appropriate cost, quality and quantity standards,
Ensure the project close-out is planned and executed appropriately including compiling of required reports.
Maintain a project register that covers all operations proposals submitted and studies conducted as well as a monthly status update
Ensure appropriate operational, financial, quality and productivity standards and goals are set and achieved, in support of overall project targets
Ensure the project site is set up, managed and maintained according to relevant standards and requirements

Management Lines / Project Teams

Management of internal and external support services in the execution of the task requirements
Provide technical and operational support to the operating projects

Technical Management

Oversee the quality control for all work within specialisation and requirements.
Identify, develop and specify internal standards within area of specialisation
Project supervision
Provide technical and operational support to both operations and technical team

SHEQ Management

Ensure that the project are fully compliant to SHE Q requirements, policies, legislation and systems
Ensure that all SHEQ risks are identified, mapped, mitigation actions agreed and implemented throughout the project, and where possible, considered at time of tender
Balance strategic, legislative, client and operational requirements for environmental management

Research and Development

Investigate conceptual project solutions to reduce clients risks/costs.
Research and development project identification, motivation and management
Quality management for project solutions

Risk Management

Monitor and report on quality and project risks.
Action plans to mitigate quality risks.
Provide project/technical engineering assistance for projects at Divisional level
