As a Project Manager, you will work closely with the Group Executive for Renewables and his team in all aspects of project management to ensure successful execution of assigned projects, starting from proposals through to execution.
Qualifications/Experience:
To perform this position successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required:
- B. Eng / Bsc Eng degree (preferred) or B. Tech
- Minimum 6 years project management experience, preferably 10+ years experience
- Experience in one or more of the following market segments:
-Transmission and distribution
- Experience in substation and overhead line projects
- Experience in multiple Southern African countries
- MS Projects and/or Primavera
- Details for SHERQ performance while maintaining overall strategic picture
- Knowledge of applicable health, safety and environment codes, standards and legislation
- ECSA registered PR. Eng
- Project Management Professional (PMP registered)
- SACPCMP registered
- PMBOK knowledge areas proficiency
- The project manager is responsible for the budget, schedule and safety on the project as well as contract management. Responsible for executing projects effectively and efficiently with-in budget, on-time and to sufficient quality. This will include management of subcontractors and suppliers.
- Control of planning and updating of various multi-discipline projects using MS Projects or Primavera
- Participate in multi-disciplinary engineering activities and ensure close cooperation with other divisions.
- Management of the cash-flow on the project, including invoicing to the client and managing sub-contractor costs.
- Perform business development to develop new clients for Proconics.
- Lead the compilation of tenders and quotations for new projects.
- Report on the progress and performance of projects to the project specific sponsor.
- Participate in company strategy development.
