The Manager: Project Assurance will be required to provide support to the Senior Manager: Project Management and Strategic Support through the implementation of the following Key Performance Areas(KPAs):
- Manage the maintenance of project management methodology and processes, ensuring these remain current and are aligned to Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBoK) and all associated standards.
- Work closely with the Risk Management and Internal Audit Divisions to ensure alignment of the methodology with applicable GEMS policies and processes.
- Develop and maintain a project quality assurance SOP that covers all aspects of the project management function.
- Develop methods to identify and report on challenges hindering or threatening the successful achievement of project deliverables (early warning).
- Ensure ongoing monitoring of the project performance and compliance against project management methodology, standards, and procedures through ongoing and periodic reviews (project health checks).
- Oversee the Project Management Maturity Assessment Programme, including monitoring and reporting on progress
- Facilitate, deliver and monitor training on project management methodology, standards and templatesto GEMS staff in collaboration with Corporate Services
- Provide project advisory services to GEMS business units as and when required
- A Degree/Diploma in Project Management/Business Administration/ or equivalent
- Certified Project Management Professional highly preferred
- 5 - 8 years' experience in project and programme management 3 of which should be at a Manager level
- Minimum 5 years' experience combining programme/ project management and assurance experience
- Member of the Project Management Institute
- Knowledge of the medical scheme industry would be advantageous
- Comprehensive knowledge and experience in the development, implementing and reviewing project management policies and procedures in alignment with industry standards
- Excellent computer literacy and MS Office skills
- Proficiency is MS Projects and Enterprise Project Management
- Sound qualitative and quantitative analysis skills
