ABOUT JOHANNESBURG
Our Johannesburg office based in Melrose Arch serves as the company`s Functional Hub for the Southern African Operations which include Global Services, Technology and Enterprise Resource Planning Support Teams.

ABOUT THE ROLE:
This role is a permanent full-time position.
As a specialist purchasing, you will be responsible for advising and executing Purchasing activities ensuring effective resource utilization meeting operational procurement needs in a timely and effective manner adhering to defined policies and procedures.
Other key responsibilities include, but arent limited to:
Ensure operational procurement needs are met in a timely and effective manner in accordance with South32 policies, procedures and statutory requirements;Create and maintain accurate Request for Quotations (RFQs) ensuring timely responses from vendors;Negotiate pricing to ensure value for money paid taking a total cost of ownership approachEnsure all purchase requisitions are compliant with South32 Supply processes and procedures, communicating in a timely fashion any discrepancies and non-compliances with end users for actioning;Convert approved Purchase Requisitions into POs in line with business expectationsEnsure all purchase order adjustments are carried out in accordance with South32 Supply processes and procedures and immediately report all non-compliant transactions to the Manager PurchasingManage all workflow in the purchasing queue in a timely mannerActively manage open Purchase Orders in accordance with the South32 processExpediting of urgent and overdue orders as requiredSupport payment services team with vendor transactional purchasing queries and GR/IR resolutionMonitors expectations, understanding and application of Supply Purchasing processes within the team to support compliance with local requirementsSupport Purchasing Team with e-Business and Process Automation objectives and systems
ABOUT YOU:
You will have experience and demonstrate capability in the following:
Must have a minimum of 3 years of experience in a Commercial/ Supply environment;Mining and Metals will be preferred;In-depth knowledge of SAP Supply Systems/Procure to Pay processes;
Qualifications for this role are:
Bachelors Degree Commerce/Finance/Logistics/Supply Chain
