Duties & Responsibilities
Performs inspection, maintenance and repairs on motor vehicles and Generators (Mobile and Static Generators - 10KVA to 40KVA).
Inspect brake systems, engines, etc
Do routine maintenance, such as changing oil, checking batteries, and lubricating equipment and parts.
Adjust and align wheels, tighten bolts and screws, and attach system components.
Repair or replace malfunctioning components, parts, and other mechanical or electrical equipment.
Test-generators to ensure that they run smoothly.
Keeps track of the maintenance work on the vehicles and generators by completing job cards.
Repair parts and equipment when needed
Minimum Qualifications required:
Must be a qualified Diesel Mechanic
Diagnose mechanical difficulties.
Use specialised tools and equipment in performing vehicle maintenance, servicing & repair.
Establish and maintain accurate records.
Work cooperatively and effectively with others.
Perform heavy manual labour within established Health & Safety practices
Also have the knowledge of:
Health & Safety regulations and procedures
Proper use of all specialised and associated equipment to include familiarity with hand tools, power tools, welders, grinders, air and hydraulic jacks, tire repair equipment, etc.
Methods used in a programme of preventative maintenance and general maintenance.
Record-keeping techniques.
Microsoft Office Literate
Experience:
Must have at least five years experience as a Diesel Mechanic.
