Duties & Responsibilities
Performs inspection, maintenance and repairs on Generators (Mobile and Static Generators - 10KVA to 40KVA).
Know how to wire AMF panels, know various wiring techniques for various components that they work with
Must be good at fault finding, testing equipment they use in mapping out electrical pathways and locating electronics problems or malfunctions in the system.
Read and interpret diagnostic test results from diagnostic equipment
Inspect brake systems, engines, etc
Do routine maintenance, such as changing oil, checking batteries, and lubricating equipment and parts on generators
Adjust and align wheels, tighten bolts and screws, and attach system components
Repair or replace malfunctioning components, parts, and other mechanical or electrical equipment
Test-generators to ensure that they run smoothly
Keeps track of the maintenance work on the vehicles and generators by completing job cards
Repair parts and equipment when needed
Undertake all electrical repairs, including repairs & settings of Dep Sea Controllers
Complete all relevant documentation as required including inspections sheets, handovers etc
Minimum Qualifications required:
Must be a qualified Electrician with wiremans licence
Diagnose mechanical and electrical difficulties.
Use specialised tools and equipment in performing vehicle maintenance, servicing & repair.
Establish and maintain accurate records.
Work cooperatively and effectively with others.
Perform heavy manual labour within established Health & Safety practices
Must have a valid driver’s licence – Min Code EB/EC1
Also have the knowledge of:
Health & Safety regulations and procedures
Proper use of all specialised and associated equipment to include familiarity with hand tools, power tools, welders, grinders, air and hydraulic jacks, tire repair equipment, etc.
Methods used in a programme of preventative maintenance and general maintenance.
Record-keeping techniques.
Microsoft Office Literate
Experience:
Must have at least five years experience as an Electrician
