Quality Assistant

A company in the FMCG industry seeks a skilled professional to contribute to their dynamic team. Responsibilities include maintaining high-quality standards, conducting internal inspections, and actively participating in continuous improvement initiatives. The successful candidate must possess a Bachelors degree in Food Technology or Consumer Science with a minimum of 3 years experience in the food industry.

Responsibilities:
  • Assist the QA Manager in continuously improving the quality system using FSSC22000 HACCP, GMPs, and SOPs.
  • Support internal inspections for hygiene & pest control to meet GMPs.
  • Raise NCRs, distribute them to relevant departments, and ensure timely and effective closure.
  • Trend non-conformities, reporting and discussing them as management review inputs.
  • Assist the QA Manager in ensuring that factory employees meet specified quality standards.
  • Complete documents on new products for approval.
  • Understand the role of the food safety team.
  • Ensure measuring and monitoring equipment are calibrated as per the schedule and address deviations with the QA Manager.
  • Assist with the verification and validation of measuring equipment.
  • Assist with traceability studies.
  • Support lab technicians when applicable.
  • Assist in investigating customer complaints.
  • Approve new material specifications as per internal criteria.
  • Manage the Supplier Quality Assurance programme, monitoring performance and liaising regarding non-conforming raw materials.
  • Maintain raw materials specifications, food safety certificates, and religious certificates.
  • Send raw material specifications to suppliers and ensure all specifications are up to date.
  • Complete questionnaires for customers.
  • Conduct environmental monitoring and discuss results with the QA Manager. Implement and manage random micro-analysis of the final product, discussing results accordingly.
  • Evaluate the product and grant shelf life extension to customers.
RequirementsQualifications and Experience:
  • Bachelors degree in Food Technology or Consumer Science.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in food industry roles (production, quality, development).
  • Proficient in computer literacy.
