Main Purpose
The incumbent will provide operational support for the Universitys quality assurance and enhancement processes, including academic developments, Programme Reviews and Quinquennial Reviews. The incumbent will work as part of the team and will collaborate directly with key stakeholders, including Schools, Faculties, the Student Evaluations team, and Business Intelligence Services. This role is essential in advancing Wits Universitys commitment to quality assurance within the Wits Quality Assurance Framework, ensuring continuous enhancement in alignment with the Council on Higher Education (CHE) Quality Assurance Framework (QAF).
Brief Description
Key Responsibilities Include The Following
- Support Schools and Faculties in planning and coordinating programme reviews, integrating them with quinquennial quality reviews (QQRs).
- Guide and facilitate periodic reviews of schools and support structures to foster a culture of continuous improvement.
- Collaborate with QAPO teams to ensure quality assurance in academic programme development and review processes.
- Contribute to the refinement of programme review and QQR guidelines in response to evolving higher education policies.
- Liaise with internal and external stakeholders on academic quality assurance and enhancement matters.
- Serve on university and external committees relevant to quality assurance
- Keeping abreast of national and international trends that could inform academic planning and quality assurance in the university.
- Masters degree (a Doctoral qualification is an advantage).
- At least five years of experience in higher education, with direct involvement in quality assurance and enhancement, curriculum development, or academic planning.
- Strong analytical, organisational, and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English, with meticulous attention to detail.
- High proficiency in computer literacy and data analysis.
- In-depth knowledge of higher education regulatory frameworks, including the CHE, DHET, and SAQA.
