DSM-Firmenich are recruiting a Quality Control Technician to join their Quality team based at their food manufacturing site in Midrand, South Africa.

Your Key Responsibilities

• Perform chemical procedures and physical measurements (wet chemistry): GC, GCMS, HPLC, water content, optical rotation and other standard tests
• Set up Sensory Panels
• Be an active member of the Sensory Panel
• Perform Batch release/rejection
• Perform Equipment calibration
• Support Non-conformity Investigation: customer linked analytical/ sensory profile, supplier non-conformity
• Respect health, safety, hygiene, quality and environment rules applicable on site

You bring

• BSc in scientific related field, such as biochemistry, chemistry, food industry OR relevant similar minimum 3 years experience in quality control, with thorough knowledge of flavours, raw materials, microbiology, sensory)
• Excellent communication skills, able to communicate with diverse stakeholders
• Rigorous and data-driven, able to make decision autonomously and work in a fast-paced environment
• Advanced IT skills (MS Office suite, Lims, SAP, etc.)
• Technically proficient/ knowledgeable in the following chemical procedures and physical measurements (wet chemistry): GC, GCMS, HPLC, water content, optical rotation and other standard tests
• Good knowledge in quality management system desired (FSSC 22000, ISO 9001, ISO 14000)
• Fluent in English
