You lead the plan-do-check-act (PDCA) process of the site quality management system and report results to the quality section manager.

How You Will Contribute

You will support elements of the sites quality system, including internal documentation and change management control including quality policies amendments and registration of internal and external documentation, internal audits, effective PDCA cycles and CAPA system management and management review. In addition, you will coordinate the eQCMS bi-annual review, handle consumer complaints from start to finish, and serve as a key contact for food regulatory agency inspection and contacts management.

What you need to know about this position:

This position will ultimately provide support to manufacturing and services and assist with achieving the specific Quality Mondelez objectives of the organization. You will be responsible for the implementation, facilitation, and maintenance of all Quality programs and processes at the Mondelez Manufacturing unit thereby ensuring safety and quality of all products while balancing the need for production.

Education / Certifications:
  • Applicants must have a Grade 12.
  • National Diploma in Quality management and Food Hygiene or related fields. Working knowledge of quality management systems. Sound Knowledge of FMCG environment.
  • Minimum of 3 years Experience in a similar discipline. Chocolate and confectionery experience will be advantageous.
  • ISO 9001:2015, FSSC 22000, SANS1841, PAS220 and OHSAS 18001 management systems knowledge and auditing
  • Working knowledge of ISO based system implementation and management.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication, interpersonal, presentation, facilitation, project management, pro-activeness, good decision-making, and change management are also essential to the performance of this position
Job specific requirements:
  • Co-ordinate, provide support to functions regarding their Quality Operational activities
  • Initiate programmes, analyze and provide advice to support Functions.
  • Ensure statutory / regulatory compliance, and compliance to Mondelez global quality and food safety standards
  • Implement, maintain, provide support and co-ordinate existing and new policies, procedures and quality, sanitation, and food safety systems
  • Assist and initiate control measures, as well as providing an auditing function
  • Problem solving on non-conformance to quality, food safety and sanitation standards
  • Ongoing reporting on compliance levels and activities in the factory
  • Enable and maintain a culture of quality awareness and compliance through communication and training.
  • Drive risk management and continuous products/process quality and sanitation improvement activities.
  • Consistent self-development to ensure alignment to new technologies and processes. Aggressively identify food safety hazards and quality deviations and work with manufacturing teams to reduce risk and non-conformances.
  • Lead and coach teams to ensure development and ongoing validation of HACCP plans.
  • Drive the closure of corrective actions arising from internal and external processes.
  • Lead Small Group Activities to identify root causes and corrective actions arising from quality and food safety incidents.
  • Provide coaching and training to the manufacturing team.
  • Ensure participation in large project equipment sanitation design reviews for new plant installation or modifications to existing equipment for your specific section
  • Contribute to the sanitation KPIs for each area of the Port Elizabeth site.
  • Contribute and support the plant Sanitation improvement plan in your section.
  • Participate in the sanitation validation program (sanitation and allergen)
  • Form part of IL6S Pillar SWP deployment and capability building to core
