This is a great opportunity for a candidate living in the East Rand of Johannesburg or wanting to relocate to a small town, to join a brand well known for their quality dairy products in South African households.
The ideal candidate would have previous experience working within a dairy manufacturing facility or similar, managing a team QA/QT Technicians, Microbiologists and trainees in a factory environment.
Minimum Requirements:
- A BTech Degree in Quality or related or certifications for HACCP or related is preferred for this role.
- Previous experience having worked as a QA Manager or related implementing and managing FSSC 22000, HACCP/ PRP’s quality systems is essential.
- Food Safety Auditing (internal and 2nd party auditing). Audit Compliance
- Previous experience having worked within the food or related manufacturing industry is essential.
- The successful candidate must have implemented FSSC 22000 quality systems.
- Personnel and Human Resources practice, BCEA and LRA
- Management systems, Administration and Management, Problem Solving Tools, Budget, Basic Accounting, Mathematics.
- Must be able to work on their own and be computer literate with good Excel skills.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Ensuring continuous compliance with legal, statute, standards, and quality requirements.
- Maintaining FSSC 22000 quality systems and managing the quality database.
- Compiling daily, weekly, and monthly quality reports.
- Coordinating internal training for staff and conducting competency evaluations.
- Overseeing and managing hygiene, quality, and safety assurance.
- Conducting internal audits and external audits.
- Managing compliance of all approved suppliers, certificate of analysis, specifications, and non-conformities of suppliers as well as investigations and initiating corrective actions from suppliers.
- Investigating root causes, non-conformities in terms of operational quality and compliance.
- Managing compliance of products to specifications.
- Ensuring products comply to standards and legislation.
- Investigating and resolving internal and external product quality problems.
- Reviewing and making recommendations for changes to the site quality procedures.
- Ensuring HACCP studies and critical control points audits are done on time.
- Auditing and updating inspection plan as well as traceability schedules.
- Attending production meetings to address issues related to systems and quality.
- Escalating non-conformances of packaging material to the supplier.
- Supervising uplifting of non-conformance material.
- Ensuring that documents are in place and procedures are followed correctly.
- Maintaining the factory’s quality certification.
