The Livewell Group, a Dementia and Alzheimer’s care facility in Somerset West, is looking for a dedicated individual who in a spirit of excellence, integrity and professionalism would like to join the Somerset West Village Team as Quality of Life Leader.
Job responsibilities:
- Ensure optimal quality of life of Livewell residents.
- Daily interaction with the Quality of Life (QoL) Team, including Village Manager, Occupational Therapist (OT), Activity Coordinator, Other Supervisors and Quality of Life Leaders.
- Supervisor of the QoL team for the particular Mini-Livewell; including 4 nurses on duty on rotation basis day and night shift, who will report directly to you.
- Ensure that the following services are delivered effectively on the floor.
- Assist the nurses with advice when needed regarding medication, behavioral changes and care of residents.
- Ensure proper handover report by nurse on duty on completion of shift.
- Attend morning meetings and brainstorm sessions and prepare feedback from meetings to applicable supervisors and staff.
- Ensure grooming of residents are of high standard.
- Liaise regularly with the OT to ensure therapeutic environment is maintained and OT protocols and programmes are implemented.
- Ensure external specialist and doctors visits are done as per Livewell protocol;
- Ensure all Healthcare Policies and Procedures are adhered to.
- Be on call over a weekend on rotation basis.
- Liaise with companions to ensure activities are carried out as per the OT/Activity Coordinator’s programme.
- Maintain and build a healthy relationship with the families of the residents in your mini-Livewell.
- Arrange QoL meeting with families as needed.
- Perform room and safety checks and ensure passages are free of obstacles according to Health and Safety checklist;
- Report any hospitality incidents to appropriate supervisor.
- Manage the HR Processes and administration of nursing team, including recruitment, leave, payroll administration, attendance registers, discipline and monthly training.
