Job Summary
RPO Recruitment's client are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Quality Receiving Manager to oversee the receiving operations at their food manufacturing facility in Johannesburg. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring the quality and accuracy of all incoming raw materials and packaging components, managing a team of receiving staff, and implementing and maintaining quality control processes.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan, coordinate, and oversee all receiving activities to ensure that raw materials and packaging components are received in a timely manner and in accordance with quality standards
- Establish and maintain quality control procedures for incoming materials, including inspection, sampling, testing, and documentation
- Train and supervise receiving staff, ensuring that they are following proper procedures and adhering to quality standards
- Conduct regular audits of incoming materials and provide feedback to suppliers on quality issues
- Collaborate with other departments, such as production and quality assurance, to identify and resolve quality and inventory issues
- Maintain accurate records of receiving activities and report on key performance indicators to upper management
- Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and industry standards
- Bachelor's degree in a related field, such as food science, quality management, or supply chain management
- At least 5 years of experience in a similar role within the food manufacturing industry
- Strong knowledge of quality control processes and procedures, including incoming inspection and testing methods
- Excellent organizational and communication skills
- Ability to lead and motivate a team of employees
- Familiarity with food safety regulations and industry standards
- Computer proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and inventory management systems
