R&D L3 Analyst.

Working as an R&D Support Liaison you will be the link between the KCS Support Department and the KCS R&D Department, providing a two-way channel of communication, knowledge, information and support. Responsibilities will also extend to provide the same links for KCS, PSG and supporting R&D with critical Bugs and escalations, onboarding and upskilling R&D recruits and some QA Testing.

This role will provide an early response back to Support with regards to Bugs and queries, enabling them to deliver a more timely and efficient service to the customer as well as supporting the R&D Team to onboard and upskill new recruits.

This will help to provide a good overall customer service, training and onboarding experience.

Key Responsibilities

You will be expected to undertake a wide range of activities and your responsibilities will include:
  • Vetting Bugs logged on behalf of customers to ensure by KCS Support or KCS PSG
  • Applying business knowledge to provide feedback that can be shared with customers
  • Support the K8 Delivery Managers with Bug management and communications outside of R&D
  • Facilitate onboarding new recruits, ensuring they have the relevant access and toolsets to proceed with training
  • Training and mentoring R&D personnel through the L3 daily process
  • Implement and use the departmental standard QA processes and tools
  • Train R&D personnel on standard QA processes and tools
  • Understanding the role of QA and providing support and assistance with priority items and escalations
  • Run daily standups for the L3 process
  • Working collaboratively with Delivery Managers, Developers, Testers and personnel outside of R&D
  • Encourage and support continuous improvement, providing ideas for change and supporting implementation of change
Additional R&D Responsibilities

In addition to the Main Duties and Responsibilities required for this role, you will be trained as a QA Analyst so you can support the R&D Team with onboarding, training and mentoring new recruits and testing Epics and Bugs.
  • Participate in all aspects of QA product lifecycle as required; understand the product requirements, test case creation, feature/regression/integration/exploratory/end-to-end test execution
  • Execute test cases and report on results
  • Report defects and track
  • Work with developers to diagnose and rectify software problems
  • Understand product business requirements and review functional specifications, to detect and remove defects early in the product development lifecycle
  • Write test cases in line with a specification to test core functionality, identify and investigate ambiguities in test results and propose solutions
  • Execute test cases on specific areas of product functionality and check outcomes against expected results
  • Participate in Agile development processes including communicating ideas, questions and concerns
  • Participate in the relevant scrum events; planning and estimation, daily scrums, sprint reviews, and retrospectives
Key Requirements
  • Experience, knowledge and understanding of business processes
  • Excellent problem solving and troubleshooting skills
  • Excellent organisational and communication skills
  • Experience of software testing within an Agile environment
  • Experience of writing, maintaining and executing manual test cases
  • Experience of the entire test lifecycle
  • ISTQB qualification
  • Good leadership skills
  • Good training and mentoring skills
