Job Description
The purpose of this role is to assist the Reconciliations supervisor in providing a timely, accurate and compliant intercompany and payroll reconciliations for Anglo American BUs.
Key Tasks:
- Complete all process documents L5 for in scope Anglo American Bus
- Perform general ledger reconciliations in line with service level agreements
- Process routine journal transactions
- Assist with monthly reporting processes
- A detailed analysis on all open line items that become overdue is properly investigated, cleared or escalated to support a healthy balance sheet
- Open line items and exception reporting
- Ensure execution of controls, policies and procedures
- Escalation of non-routine transactions to the Reconciliations accountant Band 78
- Any other tasks as and when required
- Demonstrate behaviour in line with health, safety and environmental standards and with the Groups values
- Set the health, safety and environmental expectations for your team and monitor behaviour so that it meets the required standards
- Participate in relevant safety audits, inspections and observations, and address issues as part of demonstrating safety leadership
- Be an effective team member by demonstrating a commitment to safety and positive working behaviours
- Contribute to the broader GSS-AS team in a positive and effective manner
- Ensure compliance with accounting policies and procedures and Anglo-American plc group policies
- Actively comply with the Code of Business Conduct in all dealings
- Identify any opportunities for improved cost management and either address these, or raise them with your manager, as appropriate
- Work within policies, processes and systems and advise your leader of any issues which impede your, or your teams, performance
- BCom Degree or Tertiary Financial qualification at a recognised institution
- 1 years financial reporting experience
- Financial accounting experience in the mining industry (desired)
