Contracts Administrator

Job Description

The Contracts Administrator will be required to provide full contracts administration support for spares and project related execution and contribute to the development and resolution of commercial related issues. The incumbent will be responsible for commercial and contractual management of suppliers on a day-to-day basis. The incumbent will be required to draft contract documents, perform QS functions, supplier cost control, undertake various forms of commercial correspondence, manage contract amendments and assist with close out of supplier contracts. In achieving these objectives, the Contracts Administrator will be required to work closely with the project engineers, project managers, contracts managers as well as various applicable departments within the organisation

Qualification, Knowledge And Experience
  • Tertiary legal qualification and relevant industry experience such as LLB (or similar) and/or QS/ commercial engineering qualifications
  • Knowledge of construction contract suites such as FIDIC, NEC, JBCC and GCC
  • Dispute resolution experience is preferred
  • Other relevant post graduate qualifications albeit technical, management or business related could be advantageous
  • Relevant industry experience of 5 to 10 years
  • Knowledge and experience of project management principles
  • Prior experience of supplier contract maintenance and contract close outs
  • Prior commercial experience regarding EPC/EPCM/EPS project execution
  • Experience in negotiating commercial terms with suppliers
  • Proficiency in drafting of bespoke agreements, NDAs and credit applications
Knowledge

Responsibilities
  • Commercial management of suppliers and sub-contractors
  • Managing supplier cost control for commercial purposes
  • Drafting and vetting terms and conditions (sub-contractor) including qualifications
  • Facilitating contract amendments when necessary
  • Confidentiality Agreements / NDAs
  • Basic contract negotiations with suppliers
  • Supplier management regarding commercial aspects
  • Managing and recording of supplier claims
  • Drafting, reviewing and issuing of enquiries
  • Attending to commercial queries during tender stage
  • Commercial and contractual compliance (Interaction with suppliers regarding timely submission of required contractual documents such as bonds, programs, quality documents)
  • Assisting with tender adjudications
  • Review credit applications
  • Assessing and approving monthly claims from suppliers for invoicing
  • Claims management
