Regional Delivery & Operations Executive - Africa

The Regional Delivery & Operations Executive would be accountable for Wipros delivery, operations and administration across the Africa region. A key senior member of the leadership team who will work closely alongside the Africa Managing Director (MD), and APMEA COO to enable our strategy.

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will lead and own the optimal execution of all related initiatives across industry units, business and technology practices, and markets.
  • Demonstrate a bias and commitment for value creation, delivering outcomes that generate growth for Wipro and those we serve, and partner with.
  • Evidence an interest, even passion for the markets we work in, or aim to become involved.
  • Proactively engage to initiate relationships or expand and deepen pre-existing relations (internal and external). Additionally, to oversee, diagnose and manage client relationships in relation to the delivery of services, inclusive of feedback and support.
  • Effectively enable the contribution(s) of the collective workforce, by serving as a role model and reinforcing structures, and the provision associated interventions required to empower others in achieving a culture of high performance.
  • Be a conscious and critical thinker thus expending time and energy aligned to achieving a purpose, and able to contribute toward and enrich plans and solutions by recognising and addressing challenges and/or opportunities.
  • Partner closely with other senior leaders within Wipro and engage in ongoing discussions and collaboration across markets.
  • Monitor, plan and consistently execute support to realise goals e.g.,
    • Manage legal and compliance requirements, and associated reporting
    • Support growth through the establishment of new operations, across varied locations
    • Contractual setup and maintenance
    • Progressive evolution of delivery operations inclusive of portfolio rotation, introduction and ongoing management of continuous improvement (i.e., automation, introduction of emerging technologies and AI applications) to afford superior outcomes
    • Optimise people strategy and associated workforce (current and future) planning, and fulfilment
    • Forecasting and ongoing improvement of financial performance
Experience -

Approx. 20 years delivery across consulting, large-scale transformation, and ongoing services/outsourcing experience, ideally including a hybrid workforce across sites (remote and onsite). 7+ years in senior management leading people and managing operations - beneficial if familiar with doing so in a rapidly changing environment, and growing team.

Qualifications -

Undergraduate degree in Business (e.g., Finance, Economics, Strategy) or Technology is essential. Postgraduate degree preferable.

  • Service Delivery: An impecable track record of delivering large scale transformational projects/programs, evidencing measurable impact.
  • General Management: Proven ability to leverage financial and operational metrics to drive organisational decisions in realising objectives.
  • Sector Knowledge: Broad understanding across industries in relation to role players, strategic interests and endeavours.
  • Market Exposure: South Africa and additional African countries essential.
  • Solutions/Offerings: The foresight to understand and address critical success factors to assure the goals of any initiative is met. Demonstrated leadership in innovating, including experience in informing or developing next-generation offerings and/or driving modernisation and overall improvement.
  • Relationship Management: Demonstrated record of forging meaningful, longstanding relationships and networks.
  • People Leadership:
    • Able to build teams, attracting and retaining the best talent.
    • Proven ability to lead organisational change with enduring results through a process that strengthens organisational relationships and trust.
    • Experience operating in a multicultural and matrixed environment, in Consulting or other Professional Services with exposure to global teams is preferable.
    • Excellent verbal and written communication, and ability to present messages in a simple and compelling manner.

Language(s) -

Must be fully conversant in English (speech, reading and writing). Portuguese and/or French are considered advantageous.
