Regional Safety and Quality Manager (Kwa-Zulu Natal)

Duties & Responsibilities

Safety
  • Enforce Health & Safety culture within region.
  • Implementation of the company helaht and safety strategy.
  • Provide input to the executive management team for the management and ongoing development of the company business continuity plan.
  • Develop, implement and manage Health and Safety systems to achieve Tsebos Safety KPIs
  • Monitor compliance with Tsebos Safety policy.
  • Identify H&S risks and develop procedures and risk assessments to mitigate and manage these risks.
  • Provide executive management with BCP (Business Continuity Planning)
  • Ensure that there are trained First Aiders, Safety Reps & Fire Fighters
  • Ensure that there are first aid boxes with tool kit
  • Ensure regular safety evacuation drills are conducted in accordance with Health & Safety Strategy at all levels
  • Conduct internal investigations into H&S incidents
  • Conduct H&S audits as prescribed by the H&S policy.
  • Ensure that all necessary risk assessments within the region are conducted as per policy.
  • Compile and submit H&S reports through to the relevant channels.
  • Review and follow up on H&S incidents to ensure corrective action has been taken
  • Develop and deliver training programs in accordance iht regional initiatives.
  • Ensure that the quality management system conforms to the requirements of ISO 9001
  • Ensure that the processes are delivering their intended outputs
  • Report on the performance of the quality management system and on opportunities for improvement, particularly to top management
  • Ensure the promotion of customer focus throughout the organization
Quality
  • Effectively control Quality documentation and records regionally, included branded posters on notice boards.
  • Control and maintain a corrective and preventative action analysis and status.
  • Facilitate organizational quality awareness and improvement through the involvement of all staff and their role in quality management.
  • Verify that staff on site are following correct processes and correct cleaning methodologies.
  • Ensure continual improvement and the efficiency and effectiveness of the internal grading system.
  • Attend Operations weekly/monthly meetings to discuss documentation, housekeeping, upcoming audits, etc.
  • Ensure that regular Internal audits are being performed and that audit reports are compiled, actioned and maintained.
  • Self-perform audits for sites on a schedule as agreed. Targets set by RD.
  • Monitor the system and processes for non-conformance and continual improvement.
  • Compile means and methods of increasing customer satisfaction and client external quality scores.
  • Assess customer satisfaction through customer surveys and complaints and the control thereof.
  • Verify that all work carried out on sites complies with best practice.
  • Follow up on non-conformance reports and audits both internal and external.
  • Recommend improvements and ensure that these are implemented.
  • Time and task support and support with efficiencies.
  • Implement and maintain the Quality system Regionally, in accordance with set standards.
  • Drive efficiencies in the business and identify areas to improve efficiencies
  • Ensure all digitisation systems are used optimally.
Skills and Competencies
  • MS Work, Excel, PowerPoint,
  • Safety Management systems
  • Occupational Health & Safety Act and COIDA
  • Health & Safety System
  • Knowledge (ISO 9001, ISO 45001 and ISO 14001)
  • Facility Management
  • Sound knowledge of: Domestic & Industrial cleaning practices
  • Knowledge of Environmental legislation
  • Waste Management procedures
  • Compilation and Preparation of Statistics
  • Incident investigation
  • Report writing
  • Risk Assessment
  • Dispute resolution and Conflict
  • Verbal & written communication
  • Ability to deliver high quality and proactive service to internal and external customers
  • Ability to turn around a contract that is experiencing operational challenges by consistently focusing on quality standards and methodology.
  • Ability to effectively manage people, processes and projects.
  • Ability to develop new SOPs
  • Ability to handle conflict situations
  • Work to improve cleaning efficiencies in contracts an identify unproductive processes.
Qualifications
  • Matric
  • Diploma/SAMTRAC/Safety qualification
  • ISO 9001, 45001 and 14001 Internal Auditor
  • Must have a valid drivers licence and own reliable vehicle.
