About The Position
Overall management of the Relationship Management (RM) consultants/team, in order to achieve set and agreed targets, through the development of new and nurturing of existing, professional relationships with merchants, identified and earmarked for the RM environment
Management & control of the RM environment in accordance with the related compliance, legislation, internal & external policies, scheme rules and procedures, to ensure that sales, up-selling, product and operational risks are managed, controlled and maintained

Key Responsibilities
Profit & Revenue Management:
- Devise, agree, implement and execute the agreed strategy and business plan for the environment/team
- Develop a financial framework to cross & up-sell to the identified and earmarked merchants across the organisations capability set of products, benefits and services
- Develop and maintain solid relationships with the merchants identified and earmarked to reside in this environment
- Manage and ensure the RM Consultants achieve targets, through strategic, cross and up-selling initiatives and approaches - further track, monitor and control their activities and performance
- Achieve, personal set and agreed sales targets, in order to improve bottom-line revenue
- Ensure on-going strategic initiatives are continuously and correctly interpreted, evaluated and implemented in the maintenance and effectiveness of the RM environment
- Have a clear, solid understanding of the organisations product, benefits and service offerings
- Present/provide the targeted/earmarked merchant base with the correct and most suitable solution and/or benefit(s), in order to meet their e-Commerce needs and requirements
- Interpret merchant product requirements and timeously address and resolve merchant queries
- Implement and maintain applicable company policies, procedures and guidelines to ensure the optimal functioning and target achievements of the RM Consultant(s) & Sales environment, overall
- Ensure streamlined workflow of daily administrative, sales & relationship management tasks
- Co-ordinate & consolidate regular and ad-hoc MIS on performance & targets
- Focus on continuous improvement of manual processes and apply technology, wherever possible
- Monitor and manage agreed deliverables, output and performance of the RM Consultants (sub-ordinates)
- Develop, promote and facilitate on-going training, cross-training and-up-skilling of the team foster a climate of continuous learning
- Prepare and sign-off Personal Development Plans (PDPs) and take ownership of own career development
- Conduct quarterly performance appraisals and apply disciplinary procedures, if and when required
- Manage team administration, i.e. leave requests, roster management, sales tasks and reporting
- Acknowledge and reward exceptional performance and target achievementsGovernance & Compliance:
- Review and update all Relationship management and Sales related documents/templates regularly
- Ensure that all RM/Sales related, including reputational risks are managed, adhered to
- Further adhere to relative legislation and regulatory requirements
- Ensure related and applicable product and operational risks are maintained and controlled
- Stay abreast of Compliance requirements, Consumer Protection Act, AML, etc
- Foster mutual beneficial relationship with internal and external stakeholders
- Engage with Marketing on leads, pipeline generation/improvement and marketing initiatives via the different and available medias
- Responsible for daily workflow, co-ordination and SLA management between the consultants/team and stakeholders
- Continuously share and present Product & Marketing with merchant requirements and needs
- Accompany and support RM Consultants during existing and new merchant visits
- Grade 12 or equivalent (essential)
- Degree or Diploma in a Business Sales related field/environment (beneficial)
- 5 years Management/Supervision experience (essential)
- 5 years RM & Sales experience (essential)
- 5 10 years in the e-Commerce & Payments industry, preferably with acquiring & issuing experience
- Strategic thinker, objective & deadline driven
- Strong business acumen & Influence behaviour
- Relationship Management, negotiation & networking skills
- Understand sales & target dynamics
