Purpose of the Job:
Macmillan Education South Africa is seeking to appoint an experienced professional to the position of Reporting Accountant to fulfil the following functions:
- Provide effective and value-added in-depth support;
- Prepare and submit various monthly management reports, forecasts and annual budgets; and
- Financial reporting in their area of function across the Southern African region and group.
- CA (SA)
- Experience in manufacturing, media or entertainment industry
- Strong Microsoft Office skills - minimum of Advanced skills for Excel
- Hyperion Financial Management (HFM) and Syspro knowledge (advantageous)
- High intellect with exceptional financial analysis and data interpretation skills.
- Strong technical accounting skills.
- Well-organised administration and process discipline.
- Internal controls knowledge.
- Trained in Finance best practice.
- Commercial minded with intuitive grasp of business economics and commercial strategy.
- Rigorous, energetic and proactive.
- Ability to multi-task/crisis manage and manage tight deadlines.
- Attention to detail.
- Strong communication and presentation skills - persuasive and imaginative.

- Ensure reporting is in line with International Financial Reporting Standards and group policies.
- Produce board packs, monthly management accounts and reports.
- Produce budgets and rolling forecasts.
- Assist with submission to group in HFM.
- Implement improvements to the way we report and improve efficiency.
- Keep abreast of changes in IFRS, financial regulations and legislation.
- Respond to group and management queries.
- Assist with year-end process and auditor queries.
- Liaise with relevant parties regarding results and variance analysis.
- Other ad-hoc projects as they arise.
