Multi award winning nursery-stodels is looking for a dynamic, physically fit Department Manager to head up the nursery department at the Bellville Garden Centre. The position will report directly to the Branch Manager.
Job responsibilities:
- Managing Profitability of the department
- Report analysis and report writing
- Management & development of staff
- Stock management
- Ensuring that merchandising & displays are of a high standard
- Driving a high level of customer service
- Effective stock management and optimize branch layout opportunities
- HR, IR and staff development
Job requirements:
- 5 years experience in Retail Management
- Computer literate
- Excellent negotiation skills
- Proven leadership abilities and management of staff
- Proven people, operations and merchandise control
- Translating strategies into operational action plans
- Must be self motivated and assertive
- A successful record in sales, profit management, stock management including purchase management, tactical and strategic planning
- Must be organised, efficient, creative and assertive with strong communication skills on all levels
- Plant knowledge advantageous
- Own transport is required
