Fund Associate

A Johannesburg-based private equity firm is currently seeking a Fund Associate to oversee the comprehensive process of transaction execution and contribute to the sustained success of the organization.

The ideal Fund Associate will play a crucial role in supporting the identification, execution, and monitoring of commercial private equity investments in the energy and infrastructure sector. This role involves conducting advanced financial analysis, contributing to due diligence and research coordination, and overseeing multiple analysts. Overall encompasses all the facets of the transaction execution.

Key Qualifications For The Fund Associate

• Qualified CA (SA)
• Professional qualifications such as CFA advisable
• 5+ years of post-qualification experience
• 2-3 years in private equity experience
• Experience in infrastructure finance
• Experience in energy projects
• Must be willing to travel as needed

Key duties of the Fund Associate include but are not limited to:

• Supporting fund Principals in all areas of traction execution
• Provide comprehensive assistance and support to the fund's guiding principles across various aspects of transaction execution
• Identify opportunities to ensure successful deal closure
• Lead the due diligence processes of transactions conducting thorough assessments and investigations of potential investments
• Performs valuations, evaluating the financial worth of potential investments
• Assisting the team in understanding the value and potential returns associated with each opportunity
• Monitor portfolio performances and financial metrics
• Prepare regular reporting and analysis to facilitate decision-making
• Actively identify potential risks and opportunities that align with the fund's strategic interests
• Work closely with portfolio companies to implement strategies that enhance their performance and profitability
• Conduct in-depth research and analysis of markets and potential investment opportunities including; gathering data, assessing market trends, and identifying areas of interest for the fund
• Contribute to the development of investment opportunities
• Participate in preparing marketing materials and engaging with potential investors through meetings and presentations
• Mentoring and developing investment analysts, helping them grow their skills and contribute effectively to the fund's success
