What You'll Do
As a Fund Accountant, you will play a crucial role in reviewing quarterly and annual financial statement packages, including investor reporting.
- Review quarterly and annual financial statement packages including investor reporting
- Manage internal and external audit requests
- Coordinate delivery of investment documentation to fund administrator and depositary
- Respond to investor audit confirmations and ad hoc queries
- Assist with managing cash expenditures and maintain fund budgets with service providers and internal approvals
- Work closely with senior team members on accounting and operational issues
The ideal candidate for this Fund Accountant position should possess the following:
- Professional accountancy qualification CA(SA) / ACCA or equivalent
- 4-6 years of combined Big 4 and private sector or relevant work experience in fund accounting and private equity
- Understanding of valuation, consolidation, partner allocations, distribution waterfalls, IRRs, investor multiples
- Excellent communication and organisational skills with the ability to manage upwards.
- Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Excel and strong analytical skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and to adapt and learn quickly
