We are currently in the process of recruiting a Roll Shop Operator for the Integra Division based in Benoni in South Africa. The role will report directly to the Roll Shop and Draft Office Foreman of South Africa. The job holder will bring fresh enthusiasm, motivation to help strengthen the team. Purpose of the Job:
- To ensure continuous and timorous production of components according to the required specifications to an optimum level as well as reporting on and assisting in breakdowns;
- Doing basic maintenance on machinery;
- Ensure that housekeeping is maintained to the expected standards;
- Maintain an optimum level of safety at all time.
Description of Accountabilities:
- Ensure the production of components are at an optimum level by building tyres, rolls and components in rotators and welding machines according to template on a daily basis.
- Ensure faulty products are prevented by controlling the temperature of working conditions on a continuous basis with temperature testers.
- Ensure excellent product quality by welding each component according to template.
- Remove splatter from welding components produced to ensure product quality.
- Build jigs
- Components must be tested before and after welding
- Set correct rotation speed as required.
- Set the position of the welding head by means of the X-Y carriage settings on the control panel as per SOP.
- Record parameters, settings, temperatures and wire usage on the Roll clad report.
- Report breakdowns immediately to shift supervisor to ensure timorous and optimum production
- Assist Supervisors in repairing breakdowns to ensure optimum production levels.
- Report bad welding immediately to the foreman or supervisor for the machine to be reset to the correct levels.
