Description:
Responsible for managing a team of patternmakers, sample cutter / raters, sewing machinists, garment technologists, Grader, Marker-Maker and an Assistant. Dealing with and resolving all technical aspects relating to garments and critical path lead time
Responsibilities:
- Ensure budgeted outputs are achieved
- Ability to identify bottlenecks & put Corrective Action Plans in place and/or revise processes if the above are not achieved
- Owning the sealing process and ensure that internal processes and quality standards are aligned with the Superbalist Quality Division
- Align with the Production and Merchandise department to ensure that garments are costed and made in the most production friendly way
- Responsible that all technical information required for garment production, is correct and resolving any issues that may arise
- Responsible for systems and procedures to be implemented as well as training and support to all staff
- Work closely with the Merchandise Team, to plan and prioritise the workflow through the department and ensure CPM dates are met
- Diploma in Garment Production and/or Design/ Clothing Management required
- Min 5 years experience managing a design room, sample room and or pattern making division
- Minimum 5-8 years management experience, managing teams over multiple disciplines to achieve a specific target
- Excellent at driving individuals to master working as a team
- Excellent Excel skills with ability to manipulate, create layouts, formulas, search functions and pivot tables
- Strong technical pattern, garment construction and sewing knowledge
- Good understanding of garment manufacturing processes as well as garment finishing processes
- Good knowledge of Fabric Construction and end-use suitability
- Understanding of Body Measurement charts and how to apply when Grading
- Knowledge of Gerber Patternmaking and Grading would be advantageous
- Manucturing experience would be advantageous
