Our client in the solar/renewable energy industry is urgently looking to employ a SADC Solar Key Account Manager at their organization
Location: Matroosfontein, Cape Town
Requirements
- Proven background in solar sales
- Previous Solar PV sales and/or electrical installation experience
- Must have a strong foundation of relevant knowledge associated with the solar project industry
- Must have significant knowledge of off-grid solar systems relating to SADC countries and regulations
- Must have a grounded understanding of Solar PV or the relatable electrical market

- Build and maintain trust relationships with the Management Team, Colleagues, and Customers to ensure specific targets are met
- Work as part of the Cape Town and Johannesburg Sales Teams to ensure a smooth Southern Africa sales operation
- Work collaboratively and engage with key stakeholders to achieve specific targets
- Strive to maintain an ethical Team environment
- Selling to installers and trade specialists in the Off-Grid Sector
- Working alongside the installer base and providing product and market information to them
- Working alongside the technical, orders processing, and warehousing departments to ensure a smooth sales process
- Performance of tasks in line with company procedures
- Identify, develop, and maintain growth of accounts within the Off-Grid Segment
- Qualifying prospects with pipeline management
- Customer evaluation and feedback to the Off-Grid Sales Manager
- Building and maintaining rapport with customers
- Accurate data entry on the company CRM
- To exceed pre-agreed targets and deadlines set by the Off-Grid Sales Manager
- Market research
- Regular competitor analysis
- Provide customer training on the Reseller Portal
- Setting up new customer accounts
- Attending meetings with clients when required
- Processing of customer Trading Application Forms
- Updating and validating the company CRM
- Maintain contact with allocated customer accounts once a month
- Acquiring a thorough understanding of key customer needs and requirements and developing these.
- Developing and maintaining relationships with a portfolio of customers by continuously proposing solutions that meet/exceed their objectives.
- Prepare, document, and present well-thought-out sales pitches.
- Prepare weekly feedback on progress and forecasts for management.
- To achieve pre-agreed targets and deadlines set by the Off-Grid Sales Manager.
- Always keep the work area clean and tidy
- Follow Health & Safety procedures
- Report risks and hazards to the Cape Sales and Office Manager
