You will be responsible for providing technical guidance to the organisation to ensure compliance with legal requirements related to Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) as well as the companys corporate standards, policies, procedures, and guidelines related to EHS and industry best practices
The Specialist will work collaboratively across departments and sites to ensure that compliant environmental, health, and safety (EHS) programs are developed and implemented. In this position, the Specialist is responsible for identifying, preventing, and mitigating safety and environmental risks to protect our workforce, our assets, and the environment. In addition, Specialist will be responsible for, as part of the EHS team, maintaining & improving the EHS Management System and standards, and where applicable will support sharing of systems and tools across departmental boundaries and sites.

- Personal Protective Equipment
- High risk work e.g., electrical safety, hazardous energy control, hot work, confined space entry, work at height, etc.
- Executing projects and assigned tasks, like risk assessments, inspections and share best practices;
- Providing EHS input, guidance, and direction to the review of equipment modifications, new processes, and capital investments.
- Supporting annual EHS training plans and deliver EHS training by providing training content, train trainers and employees;
- Participating in incident and near miss investigations (root cause investigation), reporting in the Global EHS administrative systems, developing Corrective Action Preventative Action (CAPA) where required and tracking actions until completion. Evaluating effectiveness of established CAPAs.
- Manage day to day EHS queries, technical support and issues.
- Prepare reports to site, divisional and/or corporate management and regulatory agencies.
- Bachelors or BTech Degree in Safety & Environmental Management, or related field
- 5 10 Year Experience in a manufacturing facility - Pharmaceutical, or other highly regulated industry.
- Experience on supporting multiple activities/projects/sites
- Strong ability to influence others across departments and at all levels of the organization.
- Technically strong; with understanding of a variety of EHS topics.
- Innovative & compliance-minded, with the drive to go seek out necessary information.
- Collaborator capable of working within a multi-functionary team environment.
- Enthusiastic with a strong drive for results.
- Self-directed, capable of using own initiative to make EHS improvements.
- Dedicated to maintaining high standards, with the courage and candor to ensure things are done properly onsite right first time.
- Safety First mind-set. Desire to protect employees and environment.
