Process
- Ensure Compliance with the legal requirements in respect of health,
Regulations and the Mine Health Safety Act.
- Assist with conducting Baseline Risk Assessment, and ensuring
- Attend daily management meetings.
- Develop, implement, and maintain a comprehensive safety
accordance with relevant regulations and industry standards.
- Conduct regular safety inspections and audits to identify hazards,
- Conduct Health and Safety meetings and provide guidance and
work practices, and the use of personal protective equipment
(PPE).
- Conduct regular meetings and training sessions to disseminate
SHERQ initiatives.
- Investigate large scale incidents, accidents, and near misses,
to prevent reoccurrence.
- Review team inspection and investigation reports and analyse
- Develop and deliver safety training programs to increase safety
- Develop and implement health management programs and
including exposure to dust, noise, chemicals, and other potential
risks in line with ISO standards.
- Facilitate quality training programs to enhance the safety culture,
organization.
- Coordinate medical surveillance programs and ensure compliance
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals and external stakeholders
- Collaborate with operational teams to identify process
- Monitor regulatory changes and ensure compliance with relevant
- Monitor the change management process from a safety perspective
- Coordinate emergency drills and test alarms to ensure that
- Manage Contractors and ensure their adherence to plant safety
Finance
- Develop SHERQ cost effective budget in collaboration with
Stakeholder Relationships
- Provide relevant information to the Heads of department concerning
- Communicate and update General Manager on incident solutions
- Communicate effectively with employees, contractors, regulatory
SHERQ requirements and expectations
People
- Provide leadership, guidance, and support to the SHERQ team and
health, environmental responsibility, and quality excellence.
- Ensure adequate response time to incident reports.
- Participate in planned activities that are appropriate for own
- Display and encourage teamwork
- Prepare and submit reports to regulatory agencies and senior
investigations, and compliance status.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation related to safety,
- Participate in external audits and inspections and manage the
- Complete Department Minerals and Resources injury on duty (IOD)
Minimum Skills And Qualifications
- Degree in Safety Management SAMTRAC, ISO45001, ISO14001, ISO9001
- Root course analysis technique certificate
- International General certificate (International advantageous)
