Safety Officer - SACPCMP

Our client who is located in Umbogintwini, specialises in Industrial Electrical, Instrumentation and Factory Automation as well as General Mechanical Installations is currently seeking a SACPCMP registered Safety Officer to join their team.

Reporting to: Safety Manager

Rate: R110ph Desired Experience and Qualification:

• Matric
• Applicable Diploma and/or a relevant NQF SHE qualification.
• Valid SACPCMP Registration.
• Minimum 5 years experience in similar role.
• Experience in managing various projects with multiple contractors and staff reporting into him/her).

Minimum Requirements

• Valid Code EB drivers license.
• Medically fit for the position
• Clear criminal record
• Willingness and ability to relocate/travel for unspecified periods.
• Flexibility in terms of working hours.
• MS Office proficiency (Excel especially).
• Ability to speak, read and write in English.
• Good report writing skills.

Responsibilities

• Administrative, technical and training service in respect of health, safety and environmental procedures and standards, including hazard identification, risk assessments and safe working practices.
• Responsible for SHE monitoring, auditing and reporting on unsafe/ unhealthy situations and assisting in the implementation of improvements.
• Preparation of SHE incident statistics for reporting purposes.
• Responsible for the ongoing development and implementation of the Health and Safety and Environmental plan and management system.
• Conduct incident investigations to identify root cause and preventative measures.
• Provide support and advice to line management regarding SHE matters.
